Meg LauermanDirector of university communications, UNL
Meg Lauerman, director of University Communications since 2001, previously taught advertising and public relations as an assistant professor in UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Prior to joining the UNL faculty, Lauerman served in several communications leadership roles, including as a senior producer for NET Television, communications director for the Lincoln Public Schools, broadcast news producer and writer, media specialist for State Farm Insurance Co., communications director for the NSF-funded Nebraska Math and Science Initiative, and as a visiting assistant professor of broadcasting.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from UNL, and a master's degree from Michigan State University.
The Nebraska Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America named her 2006 Public Relations Professional of the Year. She is an accredited member and past board member of PRSA Nebraska, and a member of American Marketing Association and Lincoln Ad Federation.
Lauerman serves on the Prosper Lincoln team of the Lincoln Community Foundation, and has served on the boards of United Way's Women in Philanthropy, the Nebraska Humanities Foundation, Friends of Ak-Sar-Ben and Leadership Lincoln.

Laura McLeod is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice in UNL’s Marketing Department and teaches in the Center for Sales Excellence. After receiving an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Laura has spent over fifteen years in marketing. Her experience ranges from brand management with The Coca-Cola Company to creating a brand portfolio for Nature’s Variety pet foods. Most recently, McLeod was a marketing strategist with Whole Foods Market and managed their entry into the local market.
